... please make sure they meet the following standards:
1. Little to no background noise. However, if you listen to the song while you record (please, PLEASE do), you can have the music in the background of your recording, as long as it's quiet. I would highly suggest listening to the song on headphones while you sing.
2. No imperfections in the audio, such as clicks, skips, and points where your voice has overpowered the mic. If you download Audacity, you will be able to see if your voice has overpowered the mic or if you have clicks by looking at whether or not the sound has gone off the chart either above or below.
3. Recorded with the appropriate pauses in the recording. I don't care if you have to pause for two minutes between lines, please put that two minutes of silence in there and resist the urge to fast forward. This makes a whole lot less work for the mixers to do.
4. Everything is pronounced properly, sung in the correct rhythm, and sung on the right pitch and with the right notes. In other words, make sure everything is RIGHT. Don't send us your lines with pronunciation errors and say "I know I said stuff wrong/sang a few wrong notes, sorry!" You will be asked to record again until you do it right. We aren't serious business or anything, but when someone sings something wrong and everyone else sings it right, you WILL hear that one wrong note/word/etc. We want to put out the best work we can, do let's strive to do that, okay? Even if it means you have to sit for five extra minutes at your computer and listen to your take and go back and sing again, it will be worth it in the long run.
EDIT: Here is an example of what lines should sound like when you turn them in. This is just me singing my lines for an H!P project, but it's the same way I want yours to sound (except, you know, with better singing than this XD):
